2022 Programming

We are SO excited to announce that we are putting a great camp together for you this year. If you missed it in our previous newsletter, Guatemala is our specialty country of the year! What you can look forward to seeing at camp:

  • A Guatemalan cooking class for campers and parents (funded by a received grant)
  • Plenty of Guatemalan music and dance (funded by a received grant)
  • A visit from a few llamas and some reptiles (funded by a received grant)
  • Fundraising activities with our local Common Hope organization which is based in Guatemala (check them out at www.commonhope.org)
  • Activities and programming for our parents, alumni, and ayudantes (funded by a received grant)
  • And so much more!

This year’s schedule will be similar to last year. Please note there will be some changes including smaller class sizes and shorter time blocks. We are very much looking forward to introducing additional programming we were not able to host last year. Exact schedules will not be released until shortly before camp – be sure to watch the website for more information (www.lasemana.org).

Guideline update

As we did last year, we will follow Basecamp protocols in regard to Covid-19 precautions. These are subject to change as the situation continues to evolve, however, there are currently no covid-19 requirements put in place at Basecamp at this time.

Accommodations

Still in need of accommodations for the week of camp? No worries! We are in the process of drawing up a contract with a hotel near basecamp to establish room blocks in order to find you the best prices and amenities possible. Stay tuned as we anticipate more information to be released shortly. Again, be sure to watch the web for more information.

 Volunteer opportunities
